President Donald Trump took to social media to promote the release of an upcoming documentary about first lady Melania Trump.
“The movie ‘Melania’ is a must-see,” President Trump said in a Jan. 26 post on the X show, adding, “Get your tickets today. They’re selling out fast!”
Amazon, which is releasing the film, said the film depicts the 20 days leading up to Donald Trump’s inauguration as president in 2025 through the eyes of the first lady as she prepares to return her family to the White House. The documentary will be the debut project for the first lady’s new film production company, Muse Films, which she announced via social media in November.
The film was directed by Brett Ratner, a filmmaker best known for the Rush Hour series, who faced sexual assault allegations in 2017, but no criminal charges were filed against him.
The film will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on the same day as its theatrical release on January 30th. President Trump included a link in a social media post to purchase tickets to the screening at participating theaters.
The high-profile premiere screening will take place on Thursday, January 29th, the day before the film’s release, at the newly renamed Kennedy Center in Washington (now called the Trump Kennedy Center). The first lady hosted a private screening of the film at the White House on Saturday, January 24th.
