Dolly Parton’s sister is asking for prayers for the singer amid “health challenges” that have forced the superstar to postpone her upcoming concerts.

“Last night I prayed all night for my sister Dolly,” Freida Parton wrote in an Oct. 7 Facebook post. “Many of you know that she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have asked all of the world that loves her to become a prayer warrior and pray with me.”

The post read, “I know in my heart she will be fine as she is strong and loved and all prayers are lifted up for her.”

USA Today has reached out to Dolly Parton’s rep for comment.

Dolly Parton opened up about needing ‘some steps’

On September 28, the singer revealed in a post shared to her social media accounts that she “unfortunately has to postpone her upcoming Las Vegas concert.”

“As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges. My doctor says I need some procedures,” she added. “I can’t rehearse and put together the show I want you to see and the show you want to see.

Although her condition allows her to “work on all my projects here in Nashville,” Parton, 79, said: “I need some time to prepare the show.”

However, she reassured fans that this was only a momentary setback.

“God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet so don’t worry about me,” she wrote. “But I believe he’s telling me to slow down right now and I’m ready for even bigger adventures with you all.”

Parton’s year marked by mourning, business endeavors

Parton’s husband of almost 60 years, Karl Dean, died on March 3 in Nashville.

In 2024, Parton told Knox News, part of the USA Today Network, that her rarely seen husband is her quiet support system. “There’s always that safety, that security, that strength,” she said of being with Dean. “He was a good man, we had a good life, and he was a good husband.”

Parton surprised fans on March 14, making her first public appearance since Dean’s passing at the opening celebration of Dollywood theme park’s 40th season.

“I’m doing better than I expected,” Parton said in an interview with Knox News. “I’ve been with him for 60 years, so I’ll have to relearn some of the things we did. But I’ll always keep him close.”

She has since launched a Broadway-ready musical. She performed at the world premiere of “Dolly Parton’s Thread: A Symphony of My Songs,” not as an icon but as a songwriter, at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. Meanwhile, plans for a downtown Nashville hotel are still in the works.

Will Dolly Parton reschedule her Las Vegas performance?

Parton’s Las Vegas show date has been pushed back nine months and moved from December 2026 to September 2026 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The dates are:

  • December 4th, postponed until September 17th, 2026
  • December 6, 2025, postponed until September 19, 2026
  • December 7th has been postponed until September 20th, 2026
  • December 10th, postponed until September 23rd, 2026
  • December 12th, postponed until September 25th, 2026
  • December 13th, postponed until September 26th, 2026

Parton’s first extended run in more than 30 years, Dolly: Live in Las Vegas is billed as an event that weaves together classic hits and fan favorites from 70 years, including “9 to 5,” “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” “),” “),” and “A Coat of Many Colors.”
