WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday, October 6th that Sean “Diddy” Combs requested a pardon as he was set to serve for several more years behind the bar.

“A lot of people asked me for pardon,” Trump said. “I call him Puff Daddy. He asked me for pardon.” USA Today contacted the Combs representative for comments.

U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to 50 months on Friday, October 3, after the hip-hop mogul convicted in a federal sex crimes case was found guilty.

Combs could be released less than three years after receiving credit for the time he’s already spent locking up in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he’s been in custody since his arrest in September 2024.

Trump said Diddy was “very hostile” during the presidential election.

This wasn’t the first time Trump has addressed to a place he stands with a music mogul. In an interview with host Rob Finnerty on August 1st on Newsmax, Trump discussed the possibility of President Comb’s amnesty.

“Shawn ‘Diddy’ Combs, do you think you’re forgive him? ” asked Finnerty.

“Maybe…” Trump said, before pausing to Finnati to reveal, “I was very friendly with him. I got along with him. (He) looked like a good guy.

The Newsmax host said, “He said something not that good about you, sir.”

“Yeah, that’s difficult. You know, like you, we are human and we don’t want to cloud our judgment, right?” Trump said. “But when you know who you are, you are fine, then you run for the office and he makes some terrible statements… I don’t know…it’s going to be more difficult.”

How did Didi’s trial end?

On Monday, Trump was initially asked about the potential pardon of Gislaine Maxwell, an aide to embarrassing lender Jeffrey Epstein, who was initially found guilty of sex trafficking. The Supreme Court rejected October 6th to hear her appeal.

“I’ll look at it,” Trump said. He added that he had not heard her name for a while. “I’ll talk to the Department of Justice,” he said.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper and producer were arrested in September 2024. In July he was found guilty of two transport charges to engage in prostitution, but was acquitted on more serious charges of sex trafficking and assault.

His convictions are concentrated on the transport of Ex-R&B star Cassandra “Cathy” Ventura Fine and women identified as “Jane” and sex workers due to intent to prostitution.

Both Ventura Fine and Jane testified during the trial that they physically abused and controlled them, taking part in a marathon drug-fueled sexual encounter with male escorts. These sessions, known as “freak-offs,” often traveled across state and international boundaries.

Speaking to the judge prior to the October 3rd sentence, Combs spoke to detailed testimony from his former partner.

“I would like to personally apologise to Cathy Ventura for the harm and wounds that have caused her, both emotionally and physically. I hate my actions, I was embarrassed, sick,” Combs said.

Combs also apologized to Jane. “I wasn’t going to hurt you,” he said.
