The offer is made through Customs and Border Protection’s CBP Home app, which officials say tens of thousands of undocumented immigrants use to seek deportation.
President Trump and the Department of Homeland Security announce new self-deportation app
The Trump administration has introduced the CBP Home app, a new platform aimed at facilitating the illegal voluntary removal of individuals in the United States, replacing the CBP One app, Customs and Border Protection announced.

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security will triple its payments to $3,000 per person for undocumented immigrants it deports for vacation.
As President Donald Trump tightens immigration controls, the department is offering $1,000 and free travel to people who remain in the United States without legal authority to persuade them to leave.
The benefit to the government is that it avoids the average cost of arresting, detaining and removing an immigrant, which costs $17,121, officials said.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said U.S. taxpayers are “generously” tripling their exit bonus through Dec. 31.
“Undocumented immigrants should take advantage of this gift and voluntarily leave, because if they don’t, we’ll find them, arrest them, and never come back,” Noem said in a statement.
Those who are deported may never return to their home country. However, by leaving voluntarily, illegal immigrants may eventually return to the United States through legal channels.
The department urges illegal immigrants to use Customs and Border Protection’s CBP Home app to self-deport.
DHS officials say an estimated 1.9 million illegal immigrants left the country this year, but that number is difficult to corroborate because many leave voluntarily. Officials say tens of thousands of people use the CBP Home app.
The right-wing Center for Immigration Studies estimated that the foreign-born population declined by 2.2 million people in the first six months of this year, based on projections from the U.S. Census Current Population Survey. This figure represents the largest single-year decline in decades.
