Denny’s is entering a new market with the upcoming release of its limited-edition Sticky Kicks, the “first-ever sneakers made with real Denny’s syrup.”

Released on National Maple Syrup Day on Wednesday, December 17th, Denny’s Sticky Kicks is a collaboration with footwear artist and designer Mache.

“These limited edition high-top sneakers pay homage to the sweet tooth that makes every Grand Slam so irresistible,” the Spartanburg, South Carolina-based diner-style restaurant chain said in a news release.

Each pair of Sticky Kicks comes with a clear, sealed panel that displays authentic Denny’s syrup on the inside, making them “equal diner art and streetwear statement,” according to the company. Additionally, the sneakers were designed with syrup-colored patent leather, tumbled yellow accents, and an embossed Denny’s logo on the heel.

“Sticky Kick is impractical, unnecessary and completely overkill, which is why we love it,” Ellie Doty, senior vice president and chief brand officer at Denny’s, said in a statement. “For Denny’s, syrup is more than just something we serve. It’s part of us, it’s our golden thread. So it’s only natural that we’d be the first to turn it into fashion.”

Here’s how to get two sticky kicks on National Maple Syrup Day.

How to buy Denny’s Sticky Kick

Denny’s Sticky Kicks will be available exclusively at DinerDrip.com on December 17th at 12pm ET. Denny’s says the sneakers are “custom designed and limited in quantity,” meaning only a select few fans will be able to purchase the “sweet status symbol.”

Initial access will be granted to Denny’s Rewards members, who will receive a special code to unlock the site and be able to order an hour earlier than non-members. Guests who are not Rewards members can still sign up before the drop.

Denny’s says Sticky Kick is available in adult men’s sizes 8-13 and will retail for $195. The company warns customers that “intravenous fluids are just for style” and “do not puncture your shoes or eat syrup from your shoes for any reason.”

Why does Denny’s make sneakers?

Denny’s Sticky Kicks is the brand’s latest attempt to “fuse diner culture and pop culture in unexpected ways,” the chain said in a news release.

“Sticky Kicks was the right combination of over-the-top themes and maintaining the high standards of materials and manufacturing that our sneakers are known for,” shoe designer Dan Gamache, known as Mache, said in a statement. “Despite some challenging times during the research and development phase, we are all very proud to have been able to create this truly collectible shoe.”

The brand says fans interested in purchasing Sticky Kick can follow Denny’s on social media for the latest information and updates regarding the release.
