The National League Wildcard series between the San Diego Padres and the Chicago Cubs has led to all game 3 of the winners at Wrigley Field, with the winners moving into the next round of the MLB playoffs.
Chicago won the opener on Tuesday, but San Diego bounced back in Game 2 with a shutout victory, making the three wildcard series a decisive game. Veteran Yu Darvish (5-5, 5.38 ERA) begins his 14th career postseason, with right-handed James Taillon (11-7, 3.68 ERA) taking the mound for the Cubs.
“Playoff baseball is everything I wanted,” Cubs outfielder Pete Crow Armstrong was playing in his first postseason. “Wrigley is amazing.”

Jeremiah Estrada released Yu Darvish without anyone outside, and the base was loaded into the second bottom, and was forced to run by Walking Dansby Swanson. However, the right-hander recovered, hit Matt Shaw and put Michael Bush on the ground for a double play at the end of the innings.
