Approximately 10,000 CreateOn Crayola brand pip-Cubes were recalled on Thursday, Dec. 4, because they pose an “ingestion hazard” to children, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The building cubes contain magnets that can become dislodged if the seams separate, according to the CPSC notice.

If ingested, the strong magnets can stick to each other or other metal objects, which can cause gastrointestinal blockages, according to the CPSC notice. The agency says it can lead to perforation, twisting or blockage of the intestines, sepsis and death.

Createon, a manufacturer of magnetic tiles for construction, said that as of December 4, no injuries had been reported.

“CreateOn takes product safety very seriously and is cooperating fully with the CPSC regarding this voluntary recall,” the Wheeling, Illinois-based manufacturer said in a statement. “We have taken all necessary steps, including notifying consumers, updating our website with recall instructions, and working with our retail partners to remove affected products from shelves.”

Here’s what you need to know about the ongoing recall.
