Cracker Barrel Saga ends with a card dancing along with the mascot in an edited post

The cracker barrel mascot is very struggling with the fun of President Donald Trump.

About a week after restaurant chains and country stores across the country announced that the “old timer” logo was here to follow a wave of customer rebound from the president himself, Trump shared an edited video that destroyed the movement with the old timer covered in old timers that had leaned towards the song “YMCA.”

The 33-second clip posted on social media platforms on September 4th shows Trump shaking hands with the mascot and their montage dances together, cheering for each other before cheering.

The post was part of a series of videos the president posted to X on his previous Twitter account, including a clip of a doctor from California Governor Gavin Newsom wearing a “Trump 2028” hat.

From cracker barrel patrons to politicians, Americans, for better or worse, have spoken much about the chain’s new logo, which was announced in parallel on August 19th in their fall menu campaign.

Some critics, including Robby Starbuck and Matt Walsh, have accused the cracker barrel of “keeping the mind” and distanced him from its country roots and conservative values. Trump and his son Donald Trump Jr. also made clear about their negligence towards change.

It didn’t take long for Cracker Barrel to switch gears after the train of hatred began. On August 26th, they declared that the original logo would remain intact.

“All the fans are very grateful,” Trump wrote in a true social post following the announcement. “Good luck for the future. Earn lots of money and most importantly, make our customers happy again!”

Cracker Barrel did not immediately respond to USA’s request for comment.
