McDonald’s plans to test a new lineup of drinks inspired by shutter spinoff brand COSMC at several restaurants later this summer.

The fast food giant announced on July 25 that around 500 select restaurants in some states will become part of an expansion in the market testing of drinks.

The drinks are intended to “make the creativity of the best COSMC with the convenience you know and love.” Drinks in the lineup include creamy vanilla cold brew and strawberry watermelon refreshers, McDonald said.

COSMC is a spin-off concept announced by McDonald’s in 2023 and announced last year. In May, McDonald said he would close five COSMC locations in states, including Texas and Illinois, but said he was planning to test some of the drinks at regular restaurants.

When does McDonald’s introduce COSMC’s drink menu?

McDonald said it will begin rolling out market testing for COSMC drinks on September 2nd. It is unknown how long the test will run.

Which COSMC drinks will be tested at McDonald’s?

McDonald said he plans to include around 10 drinks in his tests.

Which McDonald’s drinks COSMC?

According to McDonald’s, around 500 restaurants will be included in the market test. The chain says it includes restaurants in Wisconsin, Colorado and surrounding areas.

McDonald’s operates more than 14,000 locations in the United States.

What is COSMC? Things you need to know about McDonald’s spinoff brands

COSMC’s is the concept of a spin-off restaurant owned by McDonald’s.

McDonald’s launched five COSMCs in 2024, but the company previously announced that it will close on all rolling bases this June.

The name and futuristic aesthetic of COSMC was inspired by a mascot of the same name that appeared in advertising in the late 80s and early 90s.

COSMC’s menu mainly includes drinks such as coffee, tea and frozen drinks. Soft serve ice cream, sandwiches and small groceries are also available.
