President Trump promises a salary increase to Qatar’s military
President Donald Trump’s trip to Qatar was hidden by his plan to accept a $400 million 747 jet as a national gift.
The surprise stand-up set by comedian Theo Fong at a military base in Qatar during President Donald Trump’s visit is reportedly grateful to his 19-year-old son, Baron Trump.
The host of the “This Last Weekend” podcast performed with the US Air Force for the military at Al Dade Air Force Base in Doha, where Instagram stories were confirmed on May 15th. He posted a photo with a service member in uniform, and a photo by Trump himself captioned, “Talkin Haircare.”
According to the Associated Press and the Daily Beast, in his daily life in which the president was away, Fong joked about drugs, homosexuality and developmental disorders. Some of the riffs were about smoking cocaine from the back of “mixed babies” and “the next 9/11 should happen,” the AP reported.
“I don’t care if you’re politically correct,” Fong told the troopers, according to the Associated Press.
Fong also developed Down syndrome and called the US Navy “gay,” the AP reported. He also mentioned the low crime rate in Qatar. Police said that they cannot identify the perpetrator because everyone is Mohammed and wears the same white robe. He called them “Ku Klux Sandsman,” Ap reported.
When Trump arrived on stage, he applauded Fon, who, according to the Daily Beast, called him a “great influencer.” He said he didn’t know who Fon was until his son Baron introduced him.
In fact, his son Baron said, “Dad, you have to interview someone I’ve never heard of, but my son knew well – he knows everyone,” Trump told service members. “He said, ‘Dad, you had to interview a guy named Theo Fong.’ ”
Who is Theo Fon?
Theo Fong is a stand-up comedian, actor and podcaster from Covington, Louisiana.
He hosts the “Last weekend, Theo von” podcast, featuring A-list guests such as Mark Zuckerberg, Ben Affleck, David Spade and Morgan Warren. He has over 7 million followers on both Tiktok and Instagram.
In a profile released in April, The New York Times described Phon as “one of the crucial conversationalists in the media’s new magazine-friendly mainstream,” writing that it’s difficult to drill a pigeon-hole, both politically and culturally.
What did Trump say on Fon’s podcast?
Prior to the November presidential election, Trump guested on an episode of Fon’s podcast in August 2024, with the two sharing a wide range of conversations. This episode was filmed at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in Bedminster, New Jersey.
The two discussed a range of topics, including his relationship with his family, health care, lobbying, former president Joe Biden and former vice president Kamala Harris.
At one point, Trump told Fon that he never drank alcohol after telling him he had problems with alcohol after the death of his brother Fred Trump Jr. Trump said he admired his brother, who passed away in 1981, calling him “an incredible character.” He added that he has heard that alcohol is “more difficult to get off than drugs.”
“I say there’s no people, no drugs, no alcohol or cigarettes,” Trump said. “I always say that to the kids, I say, ‘No drugs, no alcohol, no smoking’. ”
