  • Georgia, Miami, Pennsylvania and Ohio State hold the top spots for the latest NCAA re-ranked.
  • Indiana made a big jump to No. 8 after a dominant victory over Illinois.
  • Memphis is currently the main group of five candidates for the college football playoff spot.

Georgia, Miami, Pennsylvania and Ohio State will rerank the USA Today Sports NCAA, rerank 1-136, heading for one of the biggest weekends of the college’s football regular season.

Saturday’s slate will include Oregon in Pennsylvania, LSU in Mississippi and Alabama in Georgia.

The re-ranked top seven didn’t get upset, but there was some debate as to whether No. 7 Oklahoma deserves to go ahead of No. 6 LSU after beating Auburn 24-17. The Sooners resume also benefits from Michigan’s 20th place finish in Nebraska, 30-27 victory. However, the Tigers were able to stay ahead after a season-high 530 yards in a 56-10 victory against southeast Louisiana.

The big mover this week was number 8 Indiana. This rose 12 spots after a 63-10 runaway in Illinois No. 21. The Hoosiers played a near-perfect game with attacks, dominating the line of scrimmage against opponents previously considered one of the most physical things in Big Ten.

Another big jumping team was No. 25 Memphis, climbing 17 spots after beating Arkansas 32-31. The victory will make the Tigers the current favourite of five bid groups for the college football playoffs, but that could change soon as America begins playing.

The list of teams experiencing double-digit drops starts with Clemson No. 64 and Florida No. 65. The Tigers and Gators both have dipped to 16 spots after falling to 1-3, incurring losses to Syracuse and Miami, respectively.

No other things to drop 1-136. 29Utah (14), No. 40 South Carolina (14), No. 56 California (12), No. 67 West Virginia (10), No. 77 Wisconsin (14), No. 109Oklahoma State (16) included.
