College Football Playoff remains uncertain and mid-season turmoil continues
The 2025 midseason CFP field is very uncertain, but Before The Snap discusses why this could be the best playoff race ever.
Texas A&M football came out strong in Week 9 of the season.
The third-ranked Aggies improved to 8-0 on the season after an emphatic 49-25 victory over LSU, increasing their chances of finishing second in the National LBM Coaches Poll ahead of Week 10. However, second-place Indiana State defeated UCLA 56-6, so there was no reason to move up.
Alabama and Texas avoided devastating upsets, but the Crimson Tide trailed 22-14 to South Carolina with five minutes left, scored the game-clinching touchdown and two-point conversion, and then won 29-22 in the final moments. On the other hand, Texas defeated Mississippi State 45-38 in overtime despite trailing by 17 points in the fourth quarter.
The race for Group 5 teams in the College Football Playoff remains in doubt as USF, considered the favorite on the road, lost 34-31 to Memphis just one week after Memphis lost to UAB.
