Car Recall: Why They Will and What Should You Know
Why does a car recall occur? Here’s what you need to know if your car has an open recall:
Last week, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls including notifications for more than 250,000 Chrysler vehicles.
Do you want to see if a recall was issued on your car? If the car is not listed below, the owner can either check the USA Today Automotive Recall database or search the NHTSA database to search for new recalls. The NHTSA website allows you to search for recalls based on the vehicle’s identification number (VIN).
Here’s what you need to know about the vehicle recall issued by NHTSA from June 23rd to June 29th:
Chrysler recalls Pacifica and Voyager vehicles for the wrong side airbag
Chrysler reminded me of certain 2022-2025 Pacifica and Voyager vehicles as the side airbags may be broken.
Curtain airbags on the right and left sides of the recalled vehicle may have improperly sealed seams and do not maintain pressure according to NHTSA.
The dealer will inspect and replace the side curtain airbags for free. The first notice describing the safety risk will be sent on June 30th, and a follow-up letter will be sent when the remedy is developed.

Lincolns recalls the removal of the trim
The Ford Motor Company reminded me of a particular 2020-2025 Lincoln Aviator car.
NHTSA says the recalled vehicle has rear door window bars and c-pillar trim, which is insufficiently glued, so the trim may be off the car while driving.
Dealers are to repair or replace non-compatible trims for free. The first notice describing the safety risk will be sent on July 28th, and a follow-up letter will be sent when the remedy is developed.

Affected vehicles include:
- 2022-2025 I4
- 2022-2024 IX
- 2023-2024 i7
- 2024 I5
Drive power loss occurs when the software incorrectly detects “double separation conditions” and causes a shutdown of the high voltage system as a fail-safe measurement.
The software can be updated free of charge in the air or by the dealer. The owner’s notification letter will be mailed on August 5th.
Affected vehicles: 70,852
Chevrolet vehicles reminded of brake fluid leakage
General Motors recalls certain Chevrolet trucks as brake fluid leaks can cause electrical shorts.
2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD trucks may have a brake pressure sensor assembly that is covered under the recall, causing fluid to leak into the brake pressure switch to cause shorter ones.
Owners of recalled vehicles are advised to park outside the structure until the recall repairs are complete.
The dealer is to replace the affected part for free. The first notice describing the safety risk will be sent on July 28th, and a follow-up letter will be sent when the remedy is developed.

Kias recalls the broken back camera
Kia reminded me of a specific 2020-2022 Niro EV vehicle as the circuit board on the rear camera was damaged and the image of the rear camera was not displayed.

The dealer will replace the rear camera for free, and owner notifications will be mailed on August 19th.

Subaru reminds me of the Forester, a loose child seat bolt
Subaru reminded me of a certain 2025 Forester as the anchor bolts on the child seat could loosen.
According to the recall report, inadequately tightened bolts may have been caused by inadequate work instructions.
The dealer inspects the anchor bolts on the child seat and tightens them if necessary – free of charge. The notification will be mailed on August 15th.
