Paul returns to Clippers for 21st season on one-year contract
Free agent guard Chris Paul has returned to the Los Angeles Clippers on a one-year contract for his 21st and expected final season in the NBA.

Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul, who is in his 21st season in the NBA, has announced that he will retire at the end of this season.
In a social media montage celebrating his career, Paul captioned it: “What an incredible journey… so much more to come… so grateful for this final chapter.”
Paul, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was selected fourth overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets. He spent six years with the Hornets before being traded to the Clippers, where he played six more seasons.
After playing with the Clippers, Paul was traded to the Houston Rockets, where he played for two years. He then spent one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Paul then spent his final seasons with the Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs before returning to the Clippers.
During his 21-year career, Paul earned numerous accolades, including the 2006 Rookie of the Year Award, 12 All-Star selections, 11 All-NBA teams, and a spot on the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. Paul has averaged 16.9 points and 9.2 assists per game during his career. He ranks second all-time in steals and assists.
