High school students, recent alumni, and adults looking to expand their career opportunities have new options in Gadsden, Alabama.

Gadsden State Community College and Chick-Fil-A have worked together to provide participants with training programs that will provide the skills they need to work in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

After completing the training program, participants will receive industry certifications for hospitality training, food and drinks.

“(This program) is a strong example of how industry and education can work together to prepare a skilled, professional workforce,” said Baisha Woody, Gadsden State’s Director of Skills Training.

Students in the programme offered through Gadsden State’s Workforce Development Division receive hands-on training as well as food safety and customer service classroom and video instruction.

The goal of this program is to reduce barriers to industry entry, promote professional development, and develop leadership development skills for students.

Tammy Stephens, operations and training lead at Chick-fil-a Gadsden, said the programme provides a path for opportunities while also highlighting the value and standards that make Chick-fil-A a leader in the food service industry.

“Chick-Fil-A Gadsden is committed to developing leaders,” Stephens said. “We are proud to partner with Gadsden State to provide cutting-edge training that not only teaches the skills essential to running a restaurant, but also builds character and confidence.”
