Many sedans are still on sale in the US, but few are from American automakers.
Sedan sales have declined over the years as the general public is obsessed with crossovers, SUVs and pickup trucks. Most American car companies have retreated from sedans to concentrate on SUVs and trucks.
The term sedan is used to identify a vehicle with four doors and can seat at least four passengers. Thus, two- or four-seat, two-door cars like the Chevrolet Corvette or Ford Mustang do not qualify as a sedan. They are considered coupes.
Most new sedans to be sold come from Japan, Korea, Germany or Italy, but there are still few American sedans available to buy. Some foreign automakers build cars on US soil, so Americans make them, but not American automakers. This is the last remaining American car manufacturer sedan to be purchased in the 2026 model year.
Cadillac CT4
The CT4 is an entry-level Cadillac vehicle. It offers luxury and is decent sporty. It’s available at a low price of as much as $35,600. If you want to take your performance to the next level, consider the CT4-V or CT4-V Blackwing.
Cadillac CT5
CT4’s Big Brother, CT5, helps to float the Cadillac sedan lineup. It offers more interior space, cargo space and can be added with the option with a V8 engine with a CT5-V black wing.
Cadillac Celestiq
For those who have enough money to buy everything in a Cadillac showroom, Celestik may catch your eye. The car starts north at $400,000 and is being sold to an audience that is completely different from the rest of the cars Cadillac makes. The brand needs DNA that is known to it and cranks to the level to compete with Rolls-Royce Ghost and Bentley Flying Spur.
Dodge Charger
Current Dodge chargers can be purchased as a two-door coupe or a four-door sedan. You can also choose between a fully electric Daytona EV and a 6-pack that uses the i6 hurricane engine. The new generation of chargers may not have as much muscle and sound as they were in the previous era, but they are not leaning forward for performance.
Clear air
Lucids have not been on the road for a very long time, but with the short lifespan of EVs, they have been making waves. The air has a gorgeous interior and is very fast, but the most interesting thing about the car might be the range.
The cheapest trim, the Air Pure, has an estimated range of 420 miles, while the Grand Touring trim is estimated to reach 512 miles. For drivers who do not respect speed limits, the Air Sapphire has 1,234 horsepower and can reach 0-60 in just 1.89 seconds.
Tesla Model 3
Entry-level Tesla offers a lot of value for its price. Now starting at $34,490, it offers comfort and speed with a ton of technology. If the base model 3 is not fast enough, the performance variant must be large enough.
Tesla Models
Still, CyberTruck may be running for that money for the right or wrong reasons, but it is still Tesla’s flagship. They are bigger and offer much more performance than the Model 3, but cost significantly more at a starting price of $94,990.
If you’re interested in sedans from American car companies, you may need to act quickly because there’s not much variety.
