How to use star anise in your cooking
Star Anise can level up your cooking. Here’s how to use spices:
The problem has been resolved
Have you ever wanted it to be a beer while eating a bowl of soup? Now, thanks to Campbell and Pabst’s blue ribbon, you can drink and eat beer.
In time for the soup and soccer season, the brands worked together to create two beer-infused soup flavors aimed at bringing together the “smooth flavor of chunky and pabst blue ribbons.”
The two flavors include:
- Beer cheese with potatoes and chorizo soup: It is packed with flavorful chorizo sausages and hearty potatoes made from simmered creamy cheese infused with the flavor of Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer.
- Beef, bacon, beer chili and beans: It is infused with seasoned beef, hearty beans, smoky bacon and all the Pabst Blue Ribbon beer flavours.
“This is the ultimate flavor collaboration,” said Ryan Pauling, senior brand manager at Campbell’s Chunky, in a news release. “Our fans love the bold and unexpected taste experiences, and combining Chunky’s heartfelt recipes with the iconic, malt flavors of PBR brings something completely unique to the soup aisle.”
Soup flavors will only be available at Walmart in both stores and online starting later this month. As part of the launch, Campbell and Pabst Blue Ribbon will also be appearing on a food truck sampling tour at Walmart locations in the US for a month starting September 3rd.
Progresso’s soup drop was a huge hit last winter
Another recent soup innovation created a huge wave when it fell last winter.
The progress in January was a hard candy drop with a soupy chicken noodles flavor similar to a cough suppressant, and the first batch sold out within an hour, so we checked with USA Today at the time.
The company released additional drops every week throughout January.
The drop, tabbed as “soup you can smoke”, tasted like a hint of soup, tasty vegetables, tender egg noodles and parsley.
The drops were packaged in cans that looked like normal progression soup, each with 20 candies wrapped individually. According to Progresso, each order comes with a can of actual Progresso traditional chicken noodle soup, all with $2.49 and all shipping costs.
