Caribbean vacation with his former “best buddy” Jeffrey Epstein. Personal notes on the day of arrest of a sex trafficker. An inexplicable promise of meeting Mr. Big, who can help Epstein.

These and other revelations of apparent close ties between the UK’s US ambassador Peter Mandelson and late investor Epstein fired the diplomat on September 11th.

British Prime Minister Kiel sacked Mandelson on Thursday, recalling him from the embassy in Washington, D.C.

“The email indicates that the depth and scope of Peter Mandelson’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein is substantially different from what was known at the time of his appointment,” the UK Foreign Office said in a statement. “In light of that, and with the victims of Epstein’s crimes in mind, he quickly made an effective move and retreated as ambassador.”

Before committing suicide in federal prison in 2019, Epstein faced long-standing and federal and state charges related to alleged orchestration of minor sex trafficking networks. The victims’ calls for justice continue today.

Congress released hundreds of pages of documents this week. This included 2003 books with 50th birthday messages to Epstein, edited by former partner convicted sex trafficker Gislaine Maxwell. The book is filled with many of them, many of whom are excited by prominent politicians, financiers and socialites, including the looted British ambassador.

“He remains my best companion.”

In a photo pasted in a birthday book in 2003, Mandelson relaxes in a white bathrobe while talking to Epstein.

Mandelson included handwritten notes. “Once upon a time, an intelligent, keen magical man called “mystical” in my life, he remains my best companion no matter where he is in the world! ” he added.

Another photo shows Mandelson on the dining table next to a slightly covered young woman and a note saying, “I’m leaving you with a ‘funny’ friend instead…”

This week, the birthday book made the news again this week when it published an obscene memo to Epstein, which includes a signature from President Donald Trump. Trump denies involvement in the memo.

“I think it’s your world.”

Mandelson’s memo continued after Epstein pleaded guilty to the Florida charges.

Federal prosecutors have stopped investigating sex trafficking, including dozens of minor girls, in exchange for pleas for the lesser state accusations.

Mandelson was rising through the class of British politics. At the time he was a European Trade Commissioner. He was later appointed to the Senate and took a cabinet-level role in the government.

And, having access to emails under a work release program that allowed him to leave prison and go to his office during the day, Epstein continued to write Mandelson asking him to curry favor with American political leaders.

Epstein sent a message to Mandelson.

After Epstein was released from prison in July 2009, their communications continued until at least 2012, Bloomberg reported, citing an email that surfaced in a 2023 lawsuit against JPMorgan about the role of investment banks in raising funds for Epstein’s trafficking rings. The bank settled out of court for $75 million.

Epstein remained free for about ten years before being arrested in 2019 on new federal sex trafficking charges by New York prosecutors. He was found dead in prison in August 2019. Investigators determined that he committed suicide.
