Bill O’Reilly reveals illness and says he is battling an illness
Bill O’Reilly, 76, said he is suffering from an undisclosed illness and has put various media projects on hold while he undergoes treatment.
Bill O’Reilly is taking a step back from the news cycle to deal with an undisclosed illness.
The 76-year-old former Fox News host said in a statement posted on his website on January 20 that he will be taking a break from all media activities while undergoing treatment. The conservative commentator hosts the podcast No Spin News, which was created after he left Fox over several lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct.
“Hello, No Spin Nation. Sorry, I’m sick,” O’Reilly wrote on his website. “We have great doctors, so I’m going to fight the good fight. My finger is unaffected, so I’ll keep you up to date with updates on me, the news cycle, and anything else that’s important.”
“Hopefully I can get back in the saddle soon,” he concluded. USA TODAY has reached out to O’Reilly’s representatives for further comment.
O’Reilly gained fame in the 1990s as a hard-charging Republican reporter on Fox, where he hosted “The O’Reilly Factor” for more than a decade. During his time at the media company, he settled five sexual harassment lawsuits and paid millions of dollars to his accusers.
