Trey Hendrickson is staying in Cincinnati this season.
The Cincinnati Bengals’ All-Pro defensive lineman is the subject of all offseason rumours, clouding his future in the jungle. During the 2024 offseason, Hendrickson called for trade. During the 2025 offseason, he was given permission to seek trade, and the two sides went back and forth in new deals.
Currently, Hendrickson agrees to a salary increase that will pay an additional $14 million in 2025.
More importantly, for the Bengals, check out the final box that was on their to-do list this offseason. They already expanded Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins to solidify their attacks. Hendrickson ensures that defense will suffer in 2025.

Details of the Trey Hendrickson contract
Hendrickson technically did not sign an extension on the deal. Instead, it’s basically a pay raise only for the 2025 season and he was trying to do it without this new money, so he’ll hit free agency next offseason.
That deal means he will make $30 million in 2025, and according to OverTheCap he will be the sixth highest paying edge rush in average annual value (AAV). The 31-year-old was in the final year of his contract in 2025.
Hendrickson signed a four-year, $60 million contract with Bengal as a free agent after his rookie contract expired with the New Orleans saint. Edge Rush has agreed to a one-year extension over the 2023 season. This was due to pay $21 million in 2025.

Hendrickson led the league with the sax in 2024 with 17.5. For the star, who had a 17.5 sack season in 2023, it’s the perfect time to come.
Since arriving in Cincinnati before the 2021 season, Hendrickson has made four consecutive Pro Bowls and missed three regular season games.
