Barron Trump, President Donald Trump’s youngest son, served on the board of a Palm Beach-based beverage company and joined the startup, according to state corporate records.
Registration documents filed in Florida and Delaware list Barron Trump and four others as directors of Soros Yerba Mate, which was incorporated in December. State records show the company is registered at an address a few blocks north of President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago mansion in Palm Beach, Florida.
Yerba mate is a caffeinated herbal tea popular in South America and the diaspora. The leaves can be dried and steeped in boiling water to make a tea, which can be enjoyed hot or cold. Yerba mate is recognized as a healthy alternative to coffee and other teas, and the global yerba mate market is expected to rise over the next decade, according to a report in USA Today.
According to his online profile, Soros’ name comes from Florida’s nickname, the Sunshine State, and is a combination of the Spanish word sol, meaning sun. This is also a palindrome, with “sol” spelled out before and after.
Barron Trump, who turned 20 on March 20, is the only child of President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. He graduated from Oxbridge Academy in suburban West Palm Beach in May 2024 and is currently a student at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
