Banksy reveals the latest mural at London’s High Court
Famous street artist Banksy painted a mural at the London High Court. It depicts a judge who overthrew a protester.
British Street artist Banksy has painted a new mural in London’s High Court, depicting a judge who hit the protesters.
According to Reuters, the artist whose identity has never been confirmed published a photo of the artwork on his Instagram page on Monday, September 8th.
The black, white and red mural shows a judge of Wigg who used a small gave and attacked the protester holding a blood-divided placard knocked on the ground.
The artwork has arrested nearly 900 people after protesting against the ban on the Palestinian lawsuit on Saturday, September 6th, according to the BBC.
The UK labelled Palestinian Action as a terrorist organization in July, making it a crime to affiliate or support the group after some of its members broke into royal air bases and damaged military aircraft.
The Bristol-based artist will never comment on his artwork, but he has created previous works in support of Palestinian causes, including barriers to separating the West Bank, which are concentrated around Bethlehem.
Labour politicians and British envoy for women and girls Harriet Herman told the BBC that the mural was “protesting the law.”
“Congress enacts the law, and judges simply interpret the law,” Herman said. “In terms of the right to protest, I don’t think there is any evidence that judges are tightening protests beyond what Congress intended.”
Banksy’s London mural is covered
The BBC reported that the mural was covered with a large sheet of large plastic and metal barriers shortly after its release.
Court officials told the outlet that it was a “duty” to maintain the original character of the listed historic buildings and would be removed.
The photo shows security guards protecting the walled mural. The BBC quoted the unknown security guards and said they don’t know how long they will remain, but they say “at least it won’t rain.”
