Bad Bunny was in the middle of a workout when Jay-Z called him about the headlines for the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
“After the phone, I remember I liked 100 pull-ups,” the reggaeton superstar said he was calling Apple Music’s half-time headliner special with Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden live on Monday, September 29th.
“I didn’t need to do any more exercises than I ever had…it was very special. It was very special.”
A week after Bad Bunny signed a 31-day Puerto Rico residency, it was revealed that he will be headlining the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime show in 2026.
“I kept this secret for a long time,” Bud Bunny told Lowe, adding that it “feels nice” to eventually share it with the world and his fans. “I felt very emotional yesterday because it was the first time I’d shown a video to one of my friends (announcement of the Super Bowl Halftime Show) and seeing his reaction he was very excited.”

This next milestone in his career is bigger than him, Bad Bunny said.
“I’m really excited about my friends, my family, Puerto Rico and all Latinos in the world,” he told Apple Music in an interview. “I’m excited about my culture.”
Just hours before the announcement was officially shared, there were rumors that the headliner was being distributed online by Bad Bunny. Minutes before its release, he hinted at the halftime show in a tweet, saying he would add one US concert day. Finally, Bad Bunny- shared a video of himself sitting at the beach goal post as “Callaíta” performed in a collaboration post with the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation.
Nodding to Puerto Rican heritage, Bad Bunny wore a Pava. On Monday, he also shared that the beach on which the announcement footage was recorded is “very special because it’s his hometown beach.”
What to expect from Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
As for Bad Bunny’s vision for his Super Bowl halftime show, he still “knows” what he’s trying to do. “But that’s going to be a good thing.”
“I’m going to accept that moment,” he said. “It shows us what we have, our music, our culture. I just go on stage and have fun and enjoy it.”
This is the first time in his career that he will headline the halftime show, but Bad Bunny technically made his Super Bowl debut in 2020 when Shakira and Jennifer Lopez co-headlined. At the time, Bad Bunny made a cameo with J. Balvin, and the two performed Spanish poems for Cardi B’s “I Like It” and “Mi Gente” respectively.
Shakira congratulated Bad Bunny on Instagram, writing, “Welcome to the Super Bowl Stage!” Jennifer Lopez did the same and was bathed in the shared Puerto Rican heritage. “Bori Ganggu,” she wrote.
After closing out Puerto Rico’s Coriseo de Residency, Bad Bunny didn’t spend his days off before appearing on the Super Bowl stage in February. The “Tití Me Preguntó” artist will begin his 24-day Debítirarmás Fotos World Tour held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on November 21st.
The Super Bowl Halftime Show was recently spotted by Kendrick Lamar in February.
