Bad Bunny is heading for the Super Bowl.
A week after he concluded his 31-day Puerto Rican residency, the Regateon superstar was revealed as the headliner of the 2026 Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. The news was announced on September 28th during a Sunday night soccer game between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers.
A few hours before the announcement was officially shared, there were rumors of bad bunny as headliners were circulating online. Finally, Bad Bunny- shared a video of himself sitting at the beach goal post as “Callaíta” performed in a collaboration post with the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation.

Nodding to Puerto Rican heritage, Bad Bunny wore a Pava. “What I feel is beyond myself,” Bud Bunny said in a statement shared by the NFL. “This is for my people, my culture and our history.”

Bad Bunny may have concluded his sold-out residency in Coriseo, Puerto Rico, but he doesn’t necessarily have a holiday before appearing on Super Bowl stage in February. The “Tití Me Preguntó” artist will begin his 24-day Debítirarmás Fotos World Tour held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on November 21st.
This tour includes stops in Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Japan, Spain and the UK.
The 2026 Super Bowl, scheduled for February 8th, landed the day after Bad Bunny rapped three nights in Santiago, Chile, May 5-7. The football game will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Bad Bunny technically made his Super Bowl debut in 2020 when he performed at the joint headlining halftime show between Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.

On September 28, rapper Jay Z said in a statement that he was “honored” to have a bad bunny in “the world’s biggest stage.”
“It’s really exciting to see Benito continue doing it for Puerto Rico,” he said.

Super Bowl halftime news comes in bad bunny ice comments
In an interview with ID magazine published earlier this month, the “Catched Stealing” star said his decision to omit the US from his upcoming world tour was free of concern over the political situation in the US.
“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, but none of them left the hatred,” he told the outlet. He cited the large deportation of Latinos in the Trump administration as a motive for his decision to quit the show in the US.
“The ice cream could be outside (my concert), which is something we were talking about and we were very concerned about,” he said.

Before the big Sunday night’s release, it was rumoured that Taylor Swift might strengthen her NFL relationship with the 2026 Super Bowl headlines. But in response to speculation, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told the “Today” show that he “can’t say anything about it,” but that’s “probably.”
The Super Bowl Halftime Show was recently spotted by Kendrick Lamar in February. The rapper provided an inspiring performance featuring Samuel L. Jackson as Uncle Sam and tennis legend Serena Williams. Lamar’s set included his extremely popular song “Not Like Us,” a diss track directed at Drake.

In 2023, Rihanna took to the stage and revealed that she was pregnant with her second child. And then in 2022, the Halftime Show featured performances by Eminem, Mary J. Briguet, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dore and Lamar.
