National Route Beer Float Day is celebrated every August 6th, with one restaurant chain offering customers sweet deals on the day.
A&W Restaurants said in a news release on July 30 that customers will be able to visit participating locations from 2pm to 8pm local time and get a free small route beer float. The company says the root beer float is made fresh with signature root beer and a rich, creamy vanilla soft serve.
Additionally, the company is partnering with Disabled American Veterans, a nonprofit organization that provides resources and services to veterans and their families. Customers are encouraged to make a voluntary donation or purchase a commemorative limited edition collector’s mug.
According to A&W Restaurant, all the dollars raised through donations and mug sales directly benefited the DAV, giving veterans access to medical care, employment support and transport to medical appointments.
The mug is open until August 6th and costs $10. This year’s mug features the Rooty The Great Root Bear, A&W mascots.
“National Route Beer Float Day is one of our favorite days, because we not only love putting free treats on our guests’ faces, but we also proudly give back to those who have served our country bravely.”
