Authorities were searching for two Australian gunmen who suspected of fatally shooting an Australian tourist on Saturday and injuring another person in a villa in Bali, an Indonesian resort island.

Just after midnight on Friday, filming killed Jivanradmanovich, 32, from Melbourne in Villa Casa Santya near Mangu Beach in Badon district. Badon Police Chief Arif Batbara said the second Melbourne victim at age 34 was beaten.

“We are not yet able to determine our motivation,” Butbara said, adding that the investigation is ongoing. The two Australians were rushed to a hospital in Denpasar, the capital of the province.

Police said the villa had only three rooms occupied by a total of five guests when the shooting occurred. The wives of the two victims were there as well, and there were also other foreign tourists, Butbara said.

Radmanovich was shot in the bathroom, and police found 17 bullet casings and two unharmed bullets.

At least three witnesses at the villa told investigators they arrived at the villa scooter around midnight, two gunmen, one wearing an orange jacket with a dark helmet, and the other wearing a black mask and a dark helmet.

Radmanovic’s wife, Goldenas Jazmine, 30, told police she woke up suddenly when she heard her husband scream. She cowed under the blanket when she heard multiple gunshots.

She later found her husband’s body and an injured Australian. The wife testified that she would also meet the attacker.

The Australian consulate in Bali has been contacted by authorities and an autopsy for further investigation is still awaiting permission from the victims’ families, Batbara said.
