Ariana Grande will skip the 2026 Grammy Awards for the first time in five years

The “Wicked” actress, 32, won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with co-star Cynthia Erivo for “Defying Gravity.” However, neither she nor Erivo attended the 68th Grammy Awards ceremony during the February 1st show.

The pair competed against SZA and Kendrick Lamar’s “30 For 30,” KATSEYE’s “Gabriela,” “KPop Demon Hunters'” “Golden,” and ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ “APT.”

The surprise win at the Feb. 1 ceremony came just weeks after Grande and Erivo were removed from Oscar nominations for the sequel, Wicked: For Good, which was completely blanked by the Academy.

By comparison, the first “Wicked” received 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Erivo) and Best Supporting Actress (Grande).

When was the last time Ariana Grande attended the Grammy Awards?

Notably, Grande has not attended a ceremony since 2020.

That year, Grande was nominated in four other categories: Best Pop Solo Performance (“7 Rings”), Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Boyfriend”), Best Record (“7 Rings”), and Best Pop Vocal Album (“Thank You Next”). She didn’t walk away with any trophies.

How many Grammy Awards has Grande won?

After Sunday’s show, Grande won three Grammy Awards and has been nominated 19 times throughout her illustrious career. In 2019, she won the pop vocal album category for “Sweetener.”

She also won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2021 for “Rain on Me” with Lady Gaga.
