California Democrats have suspended the event for Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem amid protests over the administration’s crackdown on immigration
Senator Alex Padilla has been physically removed from DHS press conference
Democrat Sen. Alex Padilla was kicked out and handcuffed at a Homeland Security press conference in Los Angeles.
Federal law enforcement agents forced Sen. Alex Padilla out of a June 12 press conference, pushing him to the ground, handcuffing California Democrats after arresting the event for Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem.
“I’m Senator Alex Padilla. I have a question for my secretary,” Padilla said she was taken from the room in the Los Angeles federal building where Noem was talking.
Norm said at a press conference that he had no idea about Padilla for the second term and had not requested a meeting with her.
“So when I leave here, I should have a conversation with him and really visit him and really find out what his concerns are,” Trump Minister said. “I think everyone in America would agree that it’s not appropriate.”
The Gnome agent oversees immigrants and customs enforcement carrying out the city’s assaults. Protesters have been flooded downtown Los Angeles for five days, some of which have fallen into violence as protesters burn cars and booty buildings.
“We will not leave. We are staying here to free this city from the burdensome leadership that the socialists and this governor and mayor put in this country,” Noem said, saying Padilla “want to know why you argue – I want to know Madame Secretary.”
Padilla was pulled out of the room, then pushed into the ground and handcuffed. His office issued a statement shortly after the video of the incident was word-of-mouthed on social media.
The California senator is in Los Angeles and will “congressive overseeing federal government operations across Los Angeles and across California,” his office said in a statement. “He is not currently in custody and is working to get additional information.”
Democrats denounced Padilla’s treatment.
“If they can handcuff US senators to ask questions, imagine what they’d do to you,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom posted on X.
On the Senate floor, minority leader D-New York’s Chuck Schumer called the Los Angeles event “non-Americans” and prompted an investigation.
“I just saw something that made my stomach sick, a pilot of a US Senator,” he said. “We need an immediate answer as to what hell did.”
