Nearly a decade later, the video of the six-car crash is going viral, and for good reason.
The accident in Kent, Michigan happened eight years ago. Shockingly, the post says all the cars involved were Ford Fiesta, including one driven by TikTok user Liam Rondi.
“I really think my chances of winning the lottery are better than riding in a 6-car Fiesta centipede,” Liam Rondi said in a post on the popular social media app that has garnered 4 million likes.
What happened to the Ford Fiesta model?
Ford produced the Fiesta as a subcompact, or supermini, car from 1976 to 2023.
The Dearborn, Michigan manufacturer has produced this car for seven generations, with the latest version premiering in 2017.
Ford announced its decision to discontinue the Fiesta in 2022, citing plans at the time to move to producing more electric vehicles in Europe.
“#FarewellFiesta, we say thank you to the many Fiesta fans around the world and everyone at Ford who has built 22 million cars in 50 years,” Ford CEO Jim Farley said in a post on X. “While we are sad to see the Fiesta go, we are excited about the next generation of electric vehicles that will soon be produced in Europe.”
Ford subsequently announced it was withdrawing from many electric vehicle programs as demand for plug-in models waned in the U.S. and the federal government under President Donald Trump withdrew support for the transition to the technology.
