Rubio promises punishment for Iran
As the death toll of American service members continues to rise, Secretary of State Marco Rubio predicted that the “heaviest blow is yet to come” against Iran. Rubio spoke on Monday, days after a joint U.S.-Israel attack killed a senior Iranian official, prompting retaliation against Israel and missile attacks on Arab countries with U.S. military bases across the Middle East.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump faces a backlash at home. Prominent Democrats have accused the president of declaring “war without the consent of Congress.” Some conservatives worry that the attacks by Trump, who campaigned on the slogan “No more endless wars,” could be seen as a “betrayal” of President Trump’s supporters.
