A woman has been arrested in West Virginia on suspicion of recruiting social media users to assassinate President Donald Trump, authorities said.

The Jackson County, West Virginia, Sheriff’s Department has begun investigating Morgan Lee Morrow, 39, who was arrested on Sunday, January 25, on suspicion of recruiting individuals online to assassinate the president, according to a Facebook post shared by the department. She has been charged with making terroristic threats.

As of January 28, details remain limited as the investigation is ongoing. USA TODAY reached out to Jackson County Sheriff Ross Mellinger for further comment, but did not immediately receive a response.

Mr. Morrow was booked into the South Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility in Charleston, West Virginia, on January 25th. Her bail was $75,000, the correctional facility told USA TODAY.

The sheriff’s office’s Facebook post about Morrow’s arrest quickly gained attention, with more than 4,200 comments as of Jan. 28. In an edit to the post, the ministry clarified that it was “not intended as a political statement.”

It was not immediately clear whether Morrow had legal representation in the case.
