When will my February SSI checks be mailed? See 2026 Payment Schedule

Date:

Recipients of Supplemental Security Income checks will receive their February payments a little earlier.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments are typically issued on the first day of the month, but if the first calendar day of the month is a weekend or holiday, the payments will be issued earlier. According to the Social Security Administration’s calendar, February 1st is a Saturday, so February payments will be made on Friday, January 30th.

This is not an unusual situation. Last month, January 1st was the New Year’s Day holiday, so January’s SSI checks were issued on Wednesday, December 31st. March SSI checks will also be conducted early. Because March 1st is a Sunday, that month’s checks will be deposited on Friday, February 27th, according to the SSA calendar.

The check scheduled to be paid on January 30th will be the second to reflect the 2.8% cost of living increase (COLA) in Social Security and SSI benefits for 2026 that began in January.

What is Supplemental Securities Income or SSI?

Administered by the Social Security Administration, Supplemental Security Income provides benefits to people with limited or no income or assets, people age 65 and older, and people who are blind or have a qualifying disability. According to the SSA website, children with eligible disabilities are also eligible for SSI. Approximately 7.4 million Americans currently receive monthly SSI payments, the agency said.

Adults who earn more than $2,019 per month from work are generally not eligible for benefits. About one-third of SSI recipients also receive Social Security benefits.

To see if you qualify for SSI, visit the Social Security website. You can also visit your local Social Security office in person or call 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. local time on weekdays.
