AFC, NFC Conference Championship Picks: Patriots and Seahawks
Lorenzo Reyes knows the season is coming to an end and is trying to put his best foot forward before a big game in a few weeks.
The 2026 Super Bowl is just two weeks away. Every year, this event attracts attention and attendance from all walks of life, including some of the most famous celebrities.
One year ago, President Donald Trump was among the attendees. But he said in an interview with the New York Post on Jan. 23 that the fight is “too far away” in 2026.
This year’s Super Bowl will be held on February 8th at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers, in Santa Clara, California. President Trump became the first sitting president to attend the 2025 Super Bowl, when the big game was held in New Orleans.
Aside from the distance to the Super Bowl, President Trump expressed displeasure about Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican artist who sings in Spanish, taking the stage for the Super Bowl 60 halftime show.
President Trump is also unhappy with the league’s decision to have Green Day perform at a special pre-Super Bowl ceremony on February 8th. The band hails from near Berkeley, California, just across the San Francisco Bay from Levi’s Stadium.
“I’m against them,” Trump told the New York Post. “I think it’s a terrible choice. It just instills hatred. It’s terrible.”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed this in October. The league said it is not reconsidering its decision to field Bad Bunny. After receiving mixed reviews, he performed at the halftime show.
This is not the first time Trump has commented on events in the NFL this season. President Trump has been an outspoken critic of the league’s new kickoff rules implemented last season, and even attended the Fox broadcast booth for the Week 10 game. President Trump also praised Shedule Sanders, who made his first NFL start. He recently made comments in favor of an NFL team hiring John Harbaugh, who was fired by the Baltimore Ravens.
