Kelsey Grammer gives President Donald Trump three cheers.

The “Frasier” star, 70, praised President Trump in an interview with Fox News Digital on Saturday, Dec. 6, ahead of the Kennedy Center Honors Dinner in Washington. DC “I think he’s an extraordinary person,” Grammer told FOX. “He’s one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had. Probably the greatest. There are still some things he wants to accomplish. I think that’s great, but there was a big mountain to climb.”

Grammer, best known for his role as Dr. Frasier Crane on the classic sitcom Cheers and its spinoff Frasier, is an outspoken Republican who has previously expressed support for Trump.

Speaking to the Times earlier this year, the “X-Men: The Last Stand” star said it would be great to see someone become president who “actually does what he says.”

Grammer also told PBS in May that he believes Trump is “really focused on the common man,” and argued that this is also true of the modern Republican Party as a whole.

In 2023, Grammer was asked in an interview on BBC Radio 4’s Today program whether he was still a Trump supporter, to which he replied: “I am. That’s it.” At the time, BBC presenter Justin Webb claimed that representatives from Paramount+, the streamer behind the revival of “Frasier,” ended the interview apparently because of the meeting with President Trump.

“Kelsey Grammer herself was happy to continue talking about it,” Webb said. “The Paramount+ publicist wasn’t too happy about him talking about it at any length, so we decided… there was enough time for an interview. But I want to emphasize that he was completely and completely willing to talk about why he supports Donald Trump and why he will support him in the upcoming election.”

In a 2012 interview with ABC News, the actor wondered if the reason he wasn’t nominated for an Emmy for his Starz series The Bosses was because he was “openly Republican,” adding that Republicans are “the worst thing” in the entertainment industry.

“Actually, I’ve always been a rebel,” he said. “If you could tell me how to think, I’d probably think differently.”

Other stars who have vocally supported President Trump include Zachary Levi, who supported the president in the 2024 election and hosted an event with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The actor told Variety that “some people don’t want to work with me right now” because of “my” political beliefs.

“My team informed me,” Levi said. “They haven’t given me specific names, but there are some people who don’t want to work with me at this point. And it’s unfortunate. I knew it was probably going to happen. I didn’t make this decision blindly or casually.”

Actor Jon Voight has also been a vocal supporter of Trump, calling him “the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln” in 2019.

Grammer, who gave birth to her eighth child in October, will soon appear on screen as part of the larger cast of Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, which hits theaters in December 2026. Grammer is set to reprise his role as Beast in the X-Men films after making a surprise cameo in 2023’s Marvel’s.
