The “beloved” Japanese-style snack has landed in select 7-Eleven convenience stores in the United States.
The global convenience store chain announced on December 3 that the “Japanese Egg Salad Sandwich,” which is inspired by the popular “Egg Sandwich” sold at 7-Eleven stores nationwide, is now available at some stores in the United States.
Like the original, this flavorful appetizer is made with “fluffy milk bread and a rich, creamy egg salad made with Kewpie, Japan’s original egg yolk-specific mayonnaise,” according to 7-Eleven.
“The egg salad sandwich has long been a popular item at 7-Eleven stores across Japan, and we’re excited to introduce a version inspired by that popular flavor for U.S. customers,” Brandon Brown, 7-Eleven’s senior vice president of fresh produce, said in a statement.
