The Epstein Files take the central stage in the testimony of Congress’ Kash Patel

Date:

The Democrat has pushed FBI director Kash Patel why he hasn’t released any details related to Jeffrey Epstein.

“You’re hiding Epstein’s files,” the steaming Democrat told FBI director Kash Patel during a routine surveillance hearing left to regular promoted voice altercations and partisan gamemanship. “You’re part of the cover-up.”

Rep. Daniel Goldman, from New York, was one of several Democrats who pushed Patel to why President Donald Trump’s administration hadn’t released any more files related to an investigation into sex trafficking into late investigator Jeffrey Epstein.

There are Maga Republicans, including Rep. Majorie Taylor Green, a Georgia fire brand who has pledged to read the names of Epstein accomplices by forcing the Department of Justice to publish Epstein documents on the same side as mainstream Democrats.

On September 17, several Democrats performed an archival video of Patel advocating for the release of Epstein-related documents. Now, as the chief of the agency, they asked him for an answer.

“The claim that I am part of a cover-up to protect child sex trafficking is patently decisively false,” Patel told the committee.

“The Real Prosecutor”

Patel has repeatedly said that the Trump administration has released more than its previous administrations. He also said the administration has released everything legally permitted to be released.

But Goldman, a former federal prosecutor, pressed Patel to specify which information cannot be released and which laws and court orders he is talking about.

Regarding why the FBI hasn’t released video evidence, Patel said:

Patel continued to refer to Epstein’s limited investigations in 2006, 2007 and 2008 when Republican George W. Bush was president, but does not appear to reference the investigation materials that led to Epstein’s arrest in 2019.

Goldman then asked Patel why he hadn’t published a special report of federal interviews with those involved in the Epstein investigation.

“We’re releasing as much as legally permitted,” replied Patel. “Sir, do you know how the court order works?”

“In fact, Mr. Patel, I was a prosecutor for years – a real prosecutor,” Goldman replied.

“Ah, so was I a fake?” Patel replied.

“Big Boy Pants”

Rep. Jamie Ruskin, a well-known Maryland Democrat, performed a video of Patel, who appeared on the show of far-right influencer Benny Johnson in 2023.

When Johnson asks Patel why the Epstein list hasn’t been released, Patel replies, “It’s simple for those on that list.” He says in another clip, “Wear your big boy pants and tell me who the pedophile is.”

With another 2023 appearance at Blaze Media, founded by conservative Glenn Beck, the host asks who has Epstein’s Black Book, and then who specifically asks. “The FBI,” says Patel. He later added that he was “under the direct control of the FBI director.”

Ruskin asked Patel why he didn’t release “Black Book” as he became the FBI director.

“Rorodex was released, what everyone collectively calls the Black Book,” replied Patel.

Ruskin replied: “Oh, you’re taking what journalists got five years ago. No, that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about what you were talking about there.

“That’s exactly what I was talking about,” Patel said. “We’ve released more material than anyone else before. The Biden and Obama administrations had the exact opportunity to release this material, but they never did.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi said he would release more Epstein files in February, but the administration has barely refused to release any information that is not yet in the public domain. The administration ultimately asked federal judges to release their transcripts for the Great Jue, but the judge in August said it was a “logical party” for the government to disclose the Epstein file.

“Flicking: FBI”

Rep. Ted Lew, a California Democrat, urged Patel to summon more information related to Epstein to more information, including time for a tape interview with journalist Michael Wolff.

Patel said he didn’t know if the FBI had summoned the Wolff tape.

Lieu asked if the Epstein file contains the 2003 birthday naked woman Doodle, revealed by the Wall Street Journal, with Trump’s signature.

“That’s what I was trying to tell you,” Patel said. “You’re putting a big point on the Jeffrey Epstein estate has a lot of information they’ve never released before.”

“Okay, that’s great,” Liu said. “So, if the FBI summoned Jeffrey Epstein’s property for all the information, wouldn’t it be great?”

“The estate is not obligated to provide the material even if it follows a subpoena,” replied Patel. “That’s a great thing.”

“It’s just wrong,” Liu said. “You are frickin’fbi. You can summon information from the real estate, and you’d be better off doing it.”
