Cracker Barrel announces new logo for mixing reactions
Known for its nostalgic charm, national restaurants and country stores have recently launched a simplified design that drops the image of a man sitting beside a wooden barrel. Some are not satisfied.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump jumped into the cracker barrel controversy and advised restaurant chains to return to old signs following a magazine backlash towards the company’s brand.
Trump’s foray into the cracker barrel debate comes as a simpler, more modern look, including only the restaurant’s name, after Republican lawmakers criticised the Tennessee-based restaurant for dumping its long-standing logo, and then featured a man in overalls sitting next to a wooden barrel.
“Cracker Barrel needs to go back to its old logo, acknowledge mistakes based on customer response (the ultimate poll) and manage the company more than ever,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social on August 26.
Trump added that Cracker Barrel “gets $1 billion worth of publicity if he played the card correctly.” He said, “We have a massive press conference today” and “We’ll make the cracker barrel a winner again.”
“It’s very difficult to do, but it’s a great opportunity,” Trump said.
The cracker barrel makeover, which also includes a brighter, more modern dining room, is filled with widespread criticism, but calls it a “awakening brand” especially among Maga politicians and influencers.
“I woke up and it broke,” the White House wrote in X’s post. This displayed the logo of a revamped cracker barrel along with the cards, as if the cards were leaning against the barrel.
Cracker Barrel issued a company statement on August 25 in response to criticism of the logo, standing by its new look, realizing that some people don’t like it.
“If the last few days show us something, it’s just how deeply people care about the barrel of crackers. We’re really grateful for your sincere voice,” the company said. “You also showed us that we could do a better job of who we are and who we are all the time.”
