Classic School building lock In the song “I’m a Mere Bill,” laments the prospect of waiting with the other bills, hoping that the bill will become law. But there was no need to wait for President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” Recently I’ve been running around Congress and landing at my desk in time to sign the law by the July 4th deadline.
In the whirlwind of Capitol Hill, you may have missed what this massive tax and spending law actually has. Below we have collected some of the most influential parts of finances and everyday life. The biggest of them:
◾ Extension of tax cuts in 2017:This is the biggest item and costs $3.7 trillion According to the Non-Parent Tax Foundation, the next 10 years. That’s money that the federal government does not collect.
◾ Reducing healthcare and food programsThese proposed reductions will save you a lot 1.3 trillion dollarsbased on a June 17 report from the Congressional Budget Office.

Penn Wharton’s budget model predicts that lower-income households will deteriorate due to cuts in Medicare and snaps, previously known as food stamps. In addition to extending tax cuts from the 2017 tax bill, Americans living in high-tax states such as California, New York and New Jersey will earn a greater income tax credit for state and local taxes known as salt. The tax cuts will only last until 2028.
One of the most talked about clauses, and one of Trump’s 2024 campaign promises, hints and overtime wages are no longer taxed. The final version of the bill is limited to both. Some of the other tax reductions you can expect:

How many tax bills are there?
Depending on who you ask at Capitol Hill, the bill could cost just $440 billion, but other more common estimates make it nearly ten times more expensive.
When Senate Republicans pushed towards passing, they demanded that the Tax Committee omit the 2017 tax cut with a new estimate. Without these portions the bill would cost $441 billion. Senate Republicans argue that these cuts should not be counted as the bill extends current tax laws. More traditional methods have locked costs between about $2.7 trillion to $3.3 trillion.
