More than 87,000 BMW and Toyota vehicles will be recalled by BMW, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced.

The recall for both brands is due to a defect in the cars’ starter motors, which the notice states “may overheat” and pose an increased risk of fire. Officials said the problem was caused by wear on internal components.

According to Cars.com, the recall was initiated by BMW, but some Toyota Supra vehicles are included because their powertrains were developed by the German automaker.

Owners of affected vehicles will receive notification letters on March 24, according to the notice. Affected vehicles can have their engine starters replaced free of charge at dealers.
