1.1 million anchor power banks were recalled after the fire reported

Over a million anchor power banks have been recalled after multiple fires and explosions have been reported, officials said.

More than 1.1 million Anker Powercore 10,000 power banks for sale in the United States have been affected by the recall, according to a Consumer Product Safety Commission warning posted Thursday, June 12th.

The recall is the only model of the affected battery is the A1263.

However, the Anker PowerCore 10000 is not the only charging device during a recall. Other Anker products such as the 334 Maggo 10K battery, 321 Power Bank (5K), and 535 Power Bank (20K) are also under similar recalls.

Anker says they will replace the affected devices, but in order for customers to receive the replacement, they will need to submit “model number, serial number, name, photo date, and a photo of the recalled power bank showing the word “recalled” written on the power bank, indicating the “recall” of the permanent marker.

According to the CPSC, 19 reports of minor injuries and explosions have been filed. This includes two reports of minor injuries and 11 reports of property damage totaling over $60,000.

According to the recall, the product was sold online from June 2016 to December 2022 on the Ankon website, Amazon, Newegg and eBay.
